Aliphatic Hydrocarbons

Products

  • 140 Solvent

Solvent used for general-purpose cleaning. With proper agitation in conventional cleaning equipment, it will effectively remove grease, lubricating oils, metal working fluids and fines from metal surfaces. It is compatible with most metals and plastics.
  • Mineral Seal Oil

Mineral Seal Oil CAS 8012-95-1 A low viscosity, highly refined, paraffinic mineral oil which is almost odorless, colorless and highly oxidation stable. Commonly used as gas absorption oil, lamp oil, dust mop oil and instrument calibration fluid. Also used as a dilutent in the manufacturing of germicides, polishes, cleaning compounds, sweeping compounds and ink oils. Used as a base oil in the manufacturing of aluminum roll oils, drilling muds, textile oils, paper defoamer, oils and caulking compounds. Used as a “safety cleaning solvent” in areas where lower flash solvents would be unsafe for use.
  • Mineral Spirits, Odorless

Mineral Spirits, Odorless Use where mineral spirits is recommended for surface preparation, thinning or clean up. Thinning Oil-based Coatings: Add gradually and stir thoroughly until desired consistency is obtained. Do not use to thin latex paint. Cleaning Tools & Surfaces: Apply to an absorbent material such as a cotton cloth or rag and wipe. Wash hands with soap and water after use.Cleaning Brushes & Rollers: Agitate brush or roller in product until all residue is dissolved. Press out excess, wipe with a clean towel, and lay flat to dry. Cleaning Spray Guns: Follow spray gun manufacturer’s instructions.

  • VM & P Naphtha

VM&P Naphtha stands for “Varnish Makers and Painter,” and is a petroleum solvent similar in strength to mineral spirits (paint thinner), but it is more volatile and has a faster drying time. It has a pleasant sweet smell and is ideal for most solvent-based finishes, making it popular for lengthy projects. It behaves much like lighter fluid and is a good solvent for cleaning residues left by tape or labels. The low flash point of VM&P Naphtha means that it is highly flammable and must be handled carefully.
