Hydroxysultaines are an Amphoteric class of surfactants that find use in high foaming shampoos, bath products and shower gels. They are used in conjunction with ether sulfates and alkyl sulfates in high, stable foam formulations. Hydroxysultaines are compatible with cationic surfactants across a wide pH range in soft or hard water. Hydroxysultaines are also used frequently as antistatic agents.
Hydroxysultaines are marketed under the Florasol line of Florida Chemical branded surfactants.
